"The Process for Peace and conciliation is UNDERSTANDING".

Only when the last American artillery shell has been fired in The Ukraine, only when the last Ukrainian soldier has been killed in The Ukraine and only when the last of Ukrainian state territory has been irretrievably lost from The Ukraine will The Americans and Europeans finally realize that God Favours Russia . . .
Hi Les, There are a certain number of hours in the day and my energy level can't even fill those.
Of course I care deeply about war and needless killing, (or maybe is is needed?) So much of this "library" is devoted to ancient history, where war was the every-day, every-year pass time. And that war was 99% geocide of all males, and the sale into slavery of all women and children.
There is a lot to say about that in a philosophical vain. One is that man is a reflective phenomenon, If you try to kill me I will try to kill you. No further questions asked. How to unravel that??
But more than mutual reflection, some people benefit by conflict. And of course some are devastated by it. Therefore the discussion cannot proceed, since it is existential to the one and the base of their livelihood for the other. So these "NO-Discussions" are best left to some other sites. The UNDERSTANDING that I am trying to achieve will go under and before that.
The theory of Ethnogenisis (what much of this site is dedicated to), sheds a lot of light on the current world. But that is for you to determine, not for my assertion.
The Power Elite at the peak levels of The State have not as their objective understanding, that being a means to an end, here that end is the continual exploitation of foreign countries.
______
The Brits. used to come very well prepared. They understood foreign cultures, history and language and generally succeeded, until they more or less went bankrupt administering their Indian Dominion. Ghandi did not force them out, a popular myth. An adverse Debt to GDP did.

The other underlying assumption is that the Peak primate brain is not fatally flawed and out of time.
Stone Age brains with nuclear weapons, as Einstein averred.

Washington cannot allow itself to lose in The Ukraine. Washington will double down until the US collapses or is destroyed. Russia manages the war to the former. Whatever Washington understands, the Russian Government understands this.
Dear Les, I hope you may understand and are not shocked. I am not a human being subject to pushes and pulls. I am a sock-puppet, designed with a certain emotional spectrum. My human being has said as the Librarian, I am not allowed to get entangled in reader's views, I only give out the books. He or she thinks that my personality must reflect the objectives of this site.
He or she has at least four, (3 other) separate Substack sites, each dedicated to another purpose, and each has a host with a personality that serves that purpose. (Some of them are quite snappy.) I am not allowed to say those sites, for they are not connected in any way to this one. But half of them are devoted to the study of how the human mechanism functions, the thinking/emotional/action matrix to which a human is irrevocably tied.
If you can't even run your own life, how do you propose to comment on the world situation or what THE OTHERS should do to save your ass. (I'm not supposed to say "ass" but I let it slip.)
My human being also knows quite a bit about internet privacy. They are not "techies" but have assured us that we are all safe. (All of us sock puppets.)
I am not Russian. In one way that gives me credibility, since I have no cultural motives. I just want the world "to work", and Russia is certainly a big part of the world. Having labored these several years for understanding, I have to admit I've grown very fond of all things Russian.
If you look at the dates on this site, it started only on Jul 23rd. (Only a couple of weeks.) I padded out the site quickly, to give some interest. All this work is from before. The only thing I have translated just now is the Tibet piece. I thought that it filled a hole. Although I have many works in progress, and many downloaded Russian writings, if I wanted to get back into it.
Actually my other interest that surpasses this site in time spent, is in classical music. I have collected 1000's of pieces of sheet music, and can play many 100's at an intermediate level on a classical flute. Flute is so amazing, that a little silver tube can generate so-much power.
For this reason, I am now investigating your site about music. I am listening to a compilation right now. (Usually I do not listen to music of others. I only listen to myself play, even 4 hours at a time.)
Thanks for your comment, and thanks for your Substack site.
Hello ebear, I view music as a language. Black marks on a staff are translated into sounds (just like any other language). Those sounds connote a meaning too. But more of an emotional meaning instead of a rational meaning. You say that Russia is moving in a positive direction. Then music is a good venue for observation. Music is about social change, agreed, especially if you are considering the lyrics. And it's true, music carries the decline. It doesn't tell you what to do about the decline though. Be alarmed I guess, instead of sluff it off.
In the Afgan song, it is interesting to watch the men. Women are the seductive ones in most cultures, but what do the men make of it? The ethnogenisis books on this site have made the differences abundantly clear to me. Societies go through stages, and earlier stages, or the rebuilding stages are loaded with masculine energy. It comes out in many ways. I condemn none of it. But it is too radical to get very close to at my age.
In these last few years I experiment with life in different ways. Not for a preconceived idea, but to see what comes of it. For instance, I operate as a pseudonym. You shared some things, why not. Of course the automatic tendency is to attach you to a certain stereo-type of behavior. (why not)? So I know something? I think? Or do I know anything? I characterized you, and of course I like that character.
Well, I'll say that I am quite a few time-zones distant from you. I am a transplant.
Hello ebear: I certainly "like your style", even before and without the mini characterization that I admitted to last time.
1. I guess that I should say I haven't been an avid reader. Some material yes, very much, and some much less. I did find the Marshal McLuhan, Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man, published in 1964. I don't know if I found it in the 60's, but I found it quite early, because I read it about 4 times, each time 10 years apart, and it always blew my mind. It is almost written in some kind of a code, meaning there are so many short pregnant declarations, and then on to the next one, without what I would have called the development of the previous idea. In other words it breaks down all of your expectations, and in that empty, left over field, you get to rebuild your descriptors. For that it is a stunning book.
2. Many people read or watch something that touches them and pass on the link, or the author's name. The trouble is that I have a long future path of all of my own links, and all my ongoing investigations, (much more than shown on this site, which is already massive here). I am not tied to specific goals about this site library4conciliation, and I wouldn't say that I am too "BUSY". Most of this work I did some years ago and I never thought to share it. Now I found Substack, and I got the idea to publish these works in a serial format. It could also allow for discussion (what we are doing right now), in that there are comment fields under every "chapter". Chapter just means I decided to break all works up into readable sessions. Sometimes they are actual book chapters, and sometimes just my break-points.
I can tell more about my Library process, maybe in another discussion.
If you want to talk about what changed for you by reading any of these authors, I would love it. But I won't be able to take a break to read one of their books. Better you tell me their salient points, that helped to change your thinking. For instance Korzybski:
Everyone has a "belief system" whether they admit it or not.
All "belief systems are operational and NONE of them are accurate.
The only way to grow (with the changing times), is to investigate your "story" about every circumstance.
I have done huge work with these three premises, even for decades. Many of which are expounded on another Substack site. Are these my own discoveries (which I think that they are), or do I know them only because Korzybski broke the ground? (He said it first). Of course he discovered them through his own process, and I discovered them through my own process, separately, in parallel, and maybe decades apart. Something called "your own process", or organic awakening, is probably my most important discovery.
3. This could be a discussion: "Standard musical notation, while more universal than any spoken language, has several limitations I'm sure you're aware of. If that weren't true, every performance would sound exactly the same, so there are nuances beyond that which can't be represented symbolically."
So sheet music is a skeleton of an idea, and you bend it to your personality or to your ability. With me I bend it to my changing ability, but I love it in exactly that way, so it is also my personality.
I am familiar with Asian Tonal Languages. Actually the tones are within the written scripts, but getting used to pronouncing them takes a learned awareness. Then with talking, you are not reading the codes, so then the tones are held in the memory of the word. (Reading is lots easier).
4. I really liked your first video. To me these were not a professional dance troupe, but just you and me in full self-expression. Then the Afgan student club try to hang on to these traditions. It can't be the same.
In the last half year I was caught by the idea that I ought to expand my self-expression. I talked with the artistic director of a local theater group, went to their performances, and intended to take his acting workshop. It was supposed to start Jul 1 and be almost over by now, but it got canceled. Then it dawned on me that playing the flute IS self-expression. I slowly started playing in public; in restaurants, markets, the city square, in museums, and even in the major public park, at least 20 times now. I would bring a stack of music and a music stand and play 2-3 hours. It made a huge difference in my playing ability, advancing with my technique and my concentration. (Now it is the rainy season, so I have not been to the park. But now I am thrown into the publishing "business" Ha.)
5. I cannot really say that radio music had a more "authentic" quality? I am of that age though, when mom was in the living room ironing clothes, and we kids playing on the floor, listening to the radio. It is McCLuhan for sure. The video is another media, not necessarily the melody or the lyrics of the song.
6. The last video with the wrap-hijab was great. Why the Hijab is a western issue? For me it is pure hate, disguised as love, as everything is disguised in the West. Just say NATO countries to be a shorthand. You say our worlds are in collision. Muslims just want to wear a hijab. What kind of collision is that?
Lots of people put something on their head in the presences of "god". Even Catholic ladies in the cathedral are "covered". I never understood why god favors not looking directly at the scalp??? I think that I can live well without knowing.
I have a huge amount of thoughts about gender, better not get into that on this site.
7. I tend to be "good" and fast, with titles. I have no doubts about my title Library4Conciliation. My major challenge is what I expressed above: NOBODY IS LOOKING TO READ "ANOTHER" BOOK. So why do I pit myself against that?
Books can change the way that you think. Nothing will change in your life or in the world until you change the way that you think. To change, you have to come to realize what you think is defective or wrong. Or at least it is in need of an update.
Everyone that visits this site is mainly interested to follow our world instability. Domestic issues take a back seat. I say they are all hooked on current events (me too). But how you interpret current events is based on how you think, (on your belief structures, above from Korzybski).
The theory of Ethnogenesis from Gumilev (all of this site so far), is a breakthrough on what is happening and what will happen. Instead of the deep state, he investigates the "deep people". There are stages within civilizations and the western (NATO) world is in a stage, where it will NEVER RESOLVE A DAMN THING. NATO, (I'll use that from now on), is made of drifters, just trying to hang on to their privileged status.
They will loose it.
(I get a pension, it is also a remnant of white man's privilege.)
(Please continue on a new comment. It is getting too skinny here.)
Looks interesting, I will tune in later to get what I hope will be some good reads.
