Philosophies are codified into religions, and we have spoken of Manichaeism. But also, Judaism, Christianity and Islam have life-negative sections. Was it necessary, when they were written?
“Yahweh gave the Jews the right to steal the lands of others (Deuteronomy 6:10-13, 6:18-19, 7:1-2). Yahweh gave the Israelites the right to commit genocide, to totally annihilate the peoples whose lands the Jews had the God-given right to take as their own (Deuteronomy 7:16). Yahweh gave the Israelites the right to ‘destroy them (other people) with a mighty destruction until they be destroyed’ (Deuteronomy 7:23). Yahweh gave the Israelites the right to murder other races and plunder their property (Exodus 3:20-22). Yahweh has made the Israelites a ‘holy’ people, a master race among other races (Deuteronomy 7:6).”
Israel was, for Christians, an abstraction, a story, a holy legend from mythological times. But today, Israel is real, and its hellish character is plainly manifested for everyone to see. Never before has the realization of Israel’s distorted soul been more accessible. We are living in a time of revelation, and we’d better not miss it.
Here’s Isaiah, about a time when “the Law will issue from Zion” and Israel “will judge between the nations and arbitrate between all peoples” (2:3-4). Here is more from Isaiah: “the nation and kingdom that will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly destroyed” (60:12); “You will suck the milk of nations, you will suck the wealth of kings” (60:16); “You will feed on the wealth of nations, you will supplant them in their glory” (61:5-6). “Yahweh’s sword is gorged with blood, it is greasy with fat,” says Isaiah on the occasion of “a great slaughter in the land of Edom [Amalek’s grandfather]” (34:6). (We’re back to the Amalekites)
Hello, Librarian. Greg (Walking the Dog) encouraged me to reach out because we're tracking some of the same topics. I just picked up Guyenot's books and did this one on an interview Rurik Skywalker did of him: https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/the-hatest-story-ever-told.
I love your Anti-System approach. What I say is that people are inherently good and when they behave badly, systems and stories are to blame. This article you posted of Guyenot's really points that out. I have one that looks at Talmud Tricks & Torah Curses: https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/talmud-tricks-and-torah-curses.
I'll definitely link this when I present on Guyenot's books. And the following one, and that excellent short video, I've saved in a draft of a post called What Is a Jew? If you ever wanted to stop by my stack, it's a wonderful and welcoming group of commenters who are, as you say to ebear, curious minds.
Hello Tereza Coraggio: and thanks for subscribing.
This particular folder has the posts on the anti-system. I thought it is important to expand upon. If we don't believe it is an active force, then we may think all evil comes from just a few villains in power. The broadest human categories are, people are either building something, (for their own good, not necessarily egalitarian), or people are destroying something, (also for their own enrichment). System or Anti-System. From the work on this site, it boils down to collective "doer-ship". As more people lose the will "to-do", to build something, those in the anti-system come out of the woodwork and feed on the collective. The termites, so to speak.
The theory of ethnogenesis traces that same trajectory in the decline of dozens of civilizations. I have kind of adopted Lev Gumilev, a Soviet geographical/historian, who has developed this theory. (That's the book I am uploading now, and will add another segment tomorrow.)
I like him because he knows so much history, and also because he is a lively writer, and with a really interesting style. And amazingly enough, that style is projected well through translation, it is all in Russian. I met Guyenot because he asked me to translate Gumilev's book on Khazaria, which I finally did. But Khazaria was not Jewish. After a coup, it was ruled by the Jewish, but there was no mixing with the population. The commoners were held in subjugation.
I always see Guyenot's articles come up on Unz. I open them up to see how long they are, invariably 6,000 - 8,000 words. Wow, that's a lot just to expose another atrocity. After I read the Talmud book (ebear gave me the link), I have no further questions about Gaza. It is all laid out to a TEE. The effect will be to demonstrate the power of martyrs. I think they will change the world, and they will flush European morality down into the sewer, where it belongs.
I have friends that run active sites, and they say that they are "exposing the empire". Their site is also a non-stop atrocity mill. That must be of value to someone? I already know about atrocities, and false narratives, so I don't need it. Here we talk only about ancient history (except in this folder, which is more current). Check out any of our books, the ancients also engaged in non-stop atrocities.
What do you get from reinforcing how much the world doesn't work, (not equally for everyone)? Be sure that I am well informed about the present. I do not live in a cloister. SO I ALREADY KNOW IT. Where can we go to see some light at the end of the tunnel? Maybe we must start on a limited level of personal empowerment and local relationships. If we cannot get that right, there is no hope for the world.
I am lucky because I have been invited to post and comment on a site that seeks solutions. It is a meeting place called Why Not Think (Differently). Please come and check it out: https://whynotthink.substack.com/
Thanks for your kind reply, Librarian. Funny because I have a termite inspector coming today. I'm hoping the anti-system has not done too much damage!
I'm not a journalist so I don't really focus on atrocities, with which my readers are already familiar, some more than me. I see myself as an analyst of the system or what you might term the anti-system. How did it come to be in charge of our lives and prevent us from building things that work?
I guess I would differ from you in that whether the system promotes power of others or power over ourselves is more critical to me than whether it's building or destroying. Those who want power over others have built an extremely robust system. My focus is looking at the stories that support that, or paradigms. It's seemed to me that was also what Laurent was doing in the realm of Jewish scriptures.
The focus of my book is also on solutions, but ones that require a change in the system that gives the bankers free ownership of all the houses and the right to create money against them, giving them free ownership of our labor. I'll check out Why Not Think (Differently)? Thanks for the recommendation.
In the meantime, may I ask how you do the tabs at the top of your Substack? My biggest complaint about Substack has been that I can't organize my posts by topic. Sorry to bother you with this but it was exciting to see that it might be possible. Thanks again for your response!
Power over others is a robust fact as you so rightly note. Our power over ourselves (personal empowerment), is something that we have to desire and engage with. It takes looking beyond (or before) our apparent victimhood.
Focus on solutions that require "changing the system", basically aren't going to happen. What is the entry point to up-end the current fact, that $ billions run our country, and our measly salary can barely run our family? Will "we" make new laws? Guess what; Billionaires make all the laws.
Just go to dashboard - settings. Scroll (pretty far) down to "add pages to you navigation bar" and click on "new Page". When the page is made, click the 3 dots to the right and "add it to the navigation"
Easy (Comment on something at WNT.) I will see it.
Notice that I made a post (#6) on these two links. I see that you (we) cannot know about Israel without investigating the Talmud, and Shahak's book is a perfect way to get started. Needless to say all Jewish thought is not the same as the orthodox necessities. But something of it is very deep in the Israeli stereo-type of beliefs and behaviors.
In the current conflict (war) you can see the Talmud unfolding with precision. It is exactly as it was written. It is not a prophecy, it is a script being acted out. It has a huge momentum.
Hello ebear. I think that you are well-read, more than I am. As I said below, I appreciate the Shahak book on the Talmud. (By the way, I started to read the Tyranny of Words that I downloaded when we met. I really like it, and I find it easy to isolate his major premises.)
I thought I would ask; since you research much of central Asian music, can you find a book about the Sharia Law, and Islam somewhat parallel to Shahak's book on the Talmud and Rabbinical Law? Westerners make many pronouncements, but I wonder how grounded they are?
"My main purpose for being on Substack - is to develop a network of curious minds, each working at their own pace within the means available to them, and sharing findings on a semi-regular basis."
How will you start that? It has to begin with the first two people doesn't it, you and me?
Up until now you're preparing for winter and wondering about incrementalism, OK fine. But at some point you'll have to just say "I'm ready, Let's go!" There is so much to discuss. My platform is about books, yours is about expression through music and song. Both very valid. But are they best for a network of curious minds, sharing their findings?
Here we are discussing under a hidden GUYÉNOT article from UNZ. How can we break out into the open? If you want to plan something, this is probably not the place to do it. I have specific ideas of how to proceed. If you say yes, I can suggest how we can talk off-line. (I don't think that we should break our anonymity.) You probably read the latest Dark Futura. You can find my post there, there are just a few dozen comments.
In the mean time I can make a post about the Tyranny of Words, sort of a book review, and we can transfer our discussion up there. I'll put it front and center. Language is so important toward how we evaluate ideas, although this, my particular site L4C, has a bit of different focus.
Hi ebear, thanks for telling about your partner and working in the early 80's. I had asked my brother to bring me a couple of used computers in the Late 80's, (5 inch floppy discs). He was visiting me in Italy where I lived. I won't tell a long story, but I came upon a software (installed in each computer) that allowed connecting and sending files through a dial-up modem. I had never heard of Internet, and didn't know if it existed in Italy; faxes were just the new thing there, but I was doing Internet on my own. That same software also allowed you to set up as a hub, and we knew a person living in London, whose hub was always on. I stayed in India for some months on business, and my wife and I traded letters on those two computers, India to Italy, that were routed through London, (which would hold the message until the other picked it up). I rapidly lost my Leading-Edge, and never regained it.
You were fortunate to have a collaborator early on. I am sort of a recluse, in that I know virtually no one who would write to discuss things. I had a good talk with a lady in a coffee shop today. She is very attentive, and "gets" what I am saying (and me to her), but she doesn't write. People write on Substack, but they are wrapped up with their own trajectory. I am focused on my own thoughts also, but I did (finally) look at your contribution of links and read them, and wrote about them.
Take your earlier suggestion for example: I am reading Stuart Chase, Tyranny of Words. When I finish, I'll definitely have something to write about it. In his acknowledgement (or any other author), he says: the manuscript has been read and criticized in whole or in part by Walter N. Polakov, John and Frances Gunther, Dr. and Mrs. Hugh H. Darby, Bassett Jones, Raymond Gram Swing, and Morris Ernst. My debt to them is great. H. M. Feine and Beverly Magee typed the entire manuscript twice and contributed various valuable suggestions. (8 people, publishers or editors. Plus his college son marked everything he didn't quite understand.)
Ha!, I wouldn't have one collaborator. You comment as the lone ranger. This site is more about other people's books, I only translate and edit. And only now I am uploading other articles and books. So there is nothing much I would change, except typos. On other sites it's more about my own thoughts, but I have less subscribers. I am doing zero marketing.

I have a lot of doubts about "Our Heroic Past", in any and every culture. There are two contradictory end-games rolled into one. First, these heroes might have united our country, most likely through a lot of blood-shed. Second, sexily dressed girls waving a saber around is not something to base a future on. To me it sounds very dangerous and counter productive to a peaceful society.
Although you can see the pathos of a subjugated people, and they want to get out of that affliction.

What about the Jewish reluctance to have any (graven) images? In the book Khazaria, Gumilev had said that is why there is no surviving "Khazar art". There was none, (no images).
